Bayern / Bavaria 1974 - 1975

Bereits ab 1968 war es den Kommunen möglich, ihre Polizei dem Freistaat Bayern zu übertragen. Zahlreiche Städte machten davon Gebrauch und entlasteten so ihren Haushalt.

Already, by 1968 it was possible for local authorities to transfer their Police to the Bavarian State. Many towns took advantage of this, thus easing their financial budgets.

Nach einem Stufenplan wurden die übrigen städtischen Polizeien bis Ende 1974 verstaatlicht.  Wie schon immer üblich, gab es Auftrageregelungen für die alte Uniform. Anstelle der alten Hoheitsabzeichen mußten nur die Abzeichen des neuen Dienstherrn auf der Mütze und dem linken Oberarm angebracht werden.

By 1974, through a gradual plan, all the urban Police had come under State control. As usual, there were order regulations for the old uniforms. Instead of the old town’s coat of arms, only the new „employer’s“ badges would be worn on the caps and upper left arms.

So entstand aus den Stadtpolizeien mit (noch) blauer Uniform und der Landpolizei mit (noch) grüner Uniform eine einheitliche bayerische Landespolizei.
 
Hence, from the Town Police, still with blue uniforms and the Land(Rural)-Police, still with green uniforms, the Bavarian State- Police came into existance.

Aus 151 Stadtpolizeien  wurde                 =   eine blaue Landespolizei
So 151 individual Town Police became   =   one blue State Police
